Introduction:
This course equips delegates with skills to conduct first, second, and third-party audits of ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems, meeting IRCA & CQI requirements for Auditor/Lead Auditor registration.
ISO 50001 2018 EnMS Course Content:
- Illustrate the purpose of an Energy Management System
- Explain the purpose, content and interrelationship of ISO 50001 and ISO 19011.
- Interpret the requirement of ISO 50001 in the context of an audit.
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of an auditor and lead the auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up on an Energy Management System audit and audit in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable.
- Plan, Conduct, report and follow up on an audit of an Energy Management System to establish conformity/ non –conformity with ISO 50001 and in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable.

Pre-Requisites:
Participants enrolling in this course must possess a baseline level of "anticipated prerequisite knowledge" concerning energy management principles, concepts, and requirements:
- A computer or laptop with a camera, and speaker with proper internet connection.
- The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle and its use in EnMS.
- The Basic elements of an energy management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, procedures, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, risk assessment, measurement correction and corrective action, review and continual improvement.
- Principle and methodologies of energy audit.
- Important legal and regulatory requirements of the country and local energy regulations.
- The understanding of the energy management system and its scope, terms and definitions, as explained in ISO 50001:2018 standards.
Learning Outcome:
Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will be capable of:
- Communicating the purpose of an energy management system, energy management system standards, management system audits, third-party certifications, and the business advantages associated with enhancing the performance of both quality and energy management systems.
- Describing the responsibilities of an auditor in terms of planning, executing, reporting, and monitoring an energy management system audit following ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021 guidelines.
- Formulating strategies for planning, executing, reporting, and following up on an audit of an energy management system to determine compliance with ISO 50001:2018, adhering to the protocols specified in ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021.

Delivery Approach:
In ISO 50001 2018 EnMS course, participants will experience accelerated learning through interactive workshops and exercises, engage in role-playing, case studies, and group discussions, and gain practical experience through mock audits and presentations of their findings.
Examination:
ISO 50001 2018 EnMS course includes a 2 hours examination and on successful completion, delegates will be awarded the certificate of achievement. In case the delegate does not qualify for the exam but attended the full course can re-sit for the exam within 12 months of the course end date.
